🏗️ The Executive Summary
Amnesia Haze is the strain that defined the Amsterdam Coffee Shop scene of the early 2000s. Bred by the legendary expatriate Soma, it is a complex poly-hybrid that combines landrace genetics from Southeast Asia, Jamaica, and Hawaii with a touch of Afghani Indica to make it growable indoors.
The name is not hyperbole. Amnesia Haze is famous for a soaring, cerebral high that, in high doses, can lead to short-term memory loss and a complete disconnection from reality. It is a "pure" Sativa experience. Unlike Blue Dream (which relaxes you), Amnesia Haze electrifies you.
Why Grow It? You grow Amnesia Haze for the Connoisseur Quality. It is one of the most terpene-rich strains in existence, smelling of fresh lemons, sandalwood, and tropical spice. However, be warned: this is a "Grower's Strain." It takes a long time to finish, stretches like bamboo, and hates high nutrient doses.
🚜 The Grow Journal
Setup:
Environment: 5x5 Gorilla Grow Tent (Height Extension Mandatory).
Lighting: 650W High-Efficiency LED (Dimmable).
Medium: 10 Gallon Smart Pots (Organic Super Soil - "Water Only" preferred to avoid nutrient burn).
Count: 4 Plants.
Training: Aggressive SCROG (Screen of Green) + Super Cropping.
🌱 The Vegetative Phase (Weeks 1–4)
Week 1 (Establishment): Seedlings are delicate. They don't have the fat, robust leaves of an Indica. They are thin and pale green.
Week 2 (The Stretch): Even in veg, they stretch. The internodes are 2–3 inches apart.
Week 3 (Topping): We top multiple times (Nodes 3 and 5). We need to break the apical dominance, or this plant will grow into a single 7-foot pole.
Week 4 (The Flip): CRITICAL: We flip to 12/12 extremely early (Day 25). The plants are only 12 inches tall, but we know what is coming. We install the trellis net immediately.
🌸 The Flowering Phase (Weeks 1–12)
Week 1–3 (The Moon Shot): The stretch is terrifying. The plants triple in size. We spend every day weaving branches horizontally. If you let them grow vertically, they will bleach themselves on the LED.
Week 4 (Nutrient Sensitivity): We see slightly burnt tips even at low EC (1.2). Amnesia Haze is a light feeder. We flush with plain water and lower the nutrient dose. Haze varieties prefer "less is more."
Week 5 (Bud Set): Finally, distinct buds appear. They are small and hairy. The smell is faint—just a clean, grassy scent.
Week 6 (The Wait): While Critical Mass would be finishing now, Amnesia is just getting started. It looks lanky and "larfy." Do not panic.
Week 7 (Terpenes): The magic aroma arrives. Intense lemon zest and pepper. It smells like a cleaning product in the best way possible.
Week 8 (Stacking): The buds begin to fill in the gaps. They spiral up the branches in classic Haze fashion.
Week 9 (Patience): The white pistils are still shooting out fresh. The plant refuses to quit. We check for spider mites, as the long flowering time gives pests more time to establish.
Week 10 (Bulk): The colas are now long, silver spears. They are not rock hard; they are spongy (Sativa structure), which makes them very resistant to mold.
Week 11 (Ripening): Finally, the pistils turn orange. The smell is pungent and fills the entire room.
Week 12 (Harvest): We wait for the trichomes to cloud up. We chop at Day 80–84. It feels like a lifetime, but the harvest is huge.
⚖️ The Harvest Report
Wet Weight: Significant biomass, but a lot of stem weight.
Dry Weight: The 4 plants yielded 1.8 lbs (approx 800g).
Bag Appeal: It looks like "Sativa Gold." The buds are slightly airy but covered in golden-amber trichomes. The smell is 10/10—pure citrus incense.
🏁 The Architect's Verdict
Amnesia Haze is the Diva.
She is high maintenance, demands special diet (low EC), takes forever to get ready, and requires a lot of space. But when she finally performs, she is the star of the show. The smoke is unmatched—a psychedelic, energetic journey that justifies every week of the 3-month flowering cycle.
Score: 9.1/10 (Quality of Smoke) Best For: Experienced growers, Patience masters, and Sativa purists.
